Face Mask Making:

See all the updates below and thank you to all for helping the effort!  Calls are coming in from all over the North state for these to cover the n95 masks and extend the use time.

1. Update on face mask pattern printing  for craftpassion.com pattern:
Here are the PDFs for each of the four sizes; the Men's and Women's would be what is needed for Red Bluff Healthcare:  Print Instructions here for patterns on the right>

We test printed each pattern and the scale perfectly on our printer.  If your printer doesn't scale properly, you might find that it is trying to scale to fit.  If so, switching to print 100% or actual size scaling should work.

2. Update for Red Bluff drop off points:

Please send a message to suncountryquilters@yahoo.com for drop off location.  Red Bluff Healthcare will take care of washing the masks before use.

We have just received word from Lassen Medical and  the Volunteer Coordinator at the VA Outpatient Clinic in Chico that they are also needing masks. Let's get them all to Carolyn and then they will go from there to wherever they are needed, after we have enough for Red Bluff Healthcare.

3. Update from the Redding Fashion Alliance:  Deb has a video below and more info about the masks, plus a different pattern.  They have kits available with the materials needed.

Finished masks are being dropped at The Enjoy Store in Redding or Red Bluff. More elastic for kits will be coming on Friday and they will have kits at the Enjoy stores by Saturday.  Hours are 3-8 pm Monday through Friday, Noon to 4 pm on Saturday to pick up kits and deliver finished masks.

Note: Elastic ponytail holders work, as well as 20" ties made from seam binding tape.

The pattern in their video uses wire that bends to fit over the nose. This can be done with floral wire (20 gauge), or jewelry wire (18-22 gauge).
