Sun Country Quilters meets on the fourth Monday of every month, with two exceptions in 2010; November’s meeting will be on the 15th and our December holiday party will be held on the 6th beginning at 6 pm. We meet in the auditorium at the Red Bluff Community and Senior Center 1500 S. Jackson, Red Bluff. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting starts promptly at 7 p.m., lasting approximately two hours. Many members come early and bring stitching projects to work on as they visit before the meeting starts.
The majority of the guild comes together at this monthly meeting, where programs on subjects related to quilting are presented. These programs are inspiring and educational; presenters may be talented local personalities or nationally known quilters. Optional guild activities are enjoyed by many members.
Show & Tell: Bring a completed quilt, a work in progress, or something a friend or relative has made. This is a very inspiring part of our program.
Raffle Prizes: Prizes are raffled each month by the Ways & Means committee. You never know what you might win!
Two Dollar Block: Each month a block packet is prepared and sold for $2 that includes a pattern and fabric. Sign ups may be required at the beginning of the year.
Library: A wide variety of quilt-related books, tapes and templates are available to check out on a monthly basis.
Hospitality: Coffee, tea and refreshments are provided free of charge, donated by members during their birthday month. A hospitality table has been added for new members to have the opportunity to ask questions and find out about our guild and activities. Several times a year special "Simply Friends Days" are held where new members work with and listen to helpful hints from more experienced members as they share a day quilting and visiting.
Guests: Members are encouraged to bring a guest. January is Friendship Month and guests are welcome free of charge. At other times the guest fee is $5.
